I decided to do today’s draw with my Gilded Reverie Lenormand app because it’s been a bit of a crazy start to the week here in the North of England.
Last night, about 00:40 AM, I could hear my husband shout ‘NOOOOOO’ from the kitchen… I was in deep sleep when the racket began but found myself instantly alert (one of the perks of being a PTSD sufferer).
Before I even made it as far as the kitchen I could see the hallway turning into a small lake of icy cold water. In the kitchen, I found my poor darling husband kneeling in that same body of water under the sink, trying to shut a valve, while involuntarily having an icy cold shower.
The freezing conditions had burst the pipe for the outdoor tap. In hindsight, we should have shut that valve before going to bed. Lesson learned!
We spent an hour or so mopping and clearing the worst of it, taking the carpet up in the hallway in the process. Luckily, we were going to replace that tatty old carpet soon anyway…
I managed to get back to sleep but wasn’t looking forward to the rest of the clear-up we had left until the morning. It turned out to be a needless worry (note to self: all worry is needless).
My husband and I work really well together as a team and made quick work of it. There has been some permanent damage and we have to wait and see what else will need fixing but we both feel very lucky – It could have been so much worse.
In a sense the three cards above apply to what happened last night but what seems an even better fit for today is the most excellent news that science has found a way of curing Huntington’s disease.
Letter, Star and Scythe show fantastic news about something being cut out, which is exactly what the new drug does – it kills the messenger gene.
It’s a day of celebration for countless families affecting by this tragic disease and I’m so happy for them all!
